Hotels near Technische Universität Berlin

The map below shows a number of selected hotels of varying price ranges. The conference venue is indicated by a blue pin, the workshop venue by a purple pin.

Recommendations:

If you are a budget traveler, we recommend the Generator Hostel (number 01 on the map below). It is really cheap (€15,50 per nicht) but your travel with pubilc transport will be 40 minutes door-to-door. We are currently planning on giving all attendees a free public transport ticket for the duration of the conference so there will be no extra cost for transportation. But you should expect night activities there: they do have a club in the hostel but the rooms are quiet as long as the guests are :-)

If you prefer proximity and comfort, we recommend the Gates Hotel (number 19). It is in walking distance to both the conference venue and the workshop venue, a decent hotel, relatively cheap, and most rates include breakfast.

You will find proximity and a slightly higher price at the Novotel Tiergarten (number 24).  This hotel is also right next to S-Bahn stop Tiergarten.  It is more expensive than the Gates Hotel.

Another convenient and moderately priced option might be one of the four Motel Ones in proximity to the conference venue, in decreasing order of convenience: Motel One Ku-damm (07 on the map, 10 minute walk), Motel One Bellevue (08 on the map, 1 S-Bahn stop away), Motel One Hauptbahnhof (09 on the map, 2 S-Bahn stops away), and Motel One Tiergarten (06 on the map, a little walk, two U-Bahn stops, and a little walk).

If you want to pamper yourself, the Waldorf Astoria (number 23 on the map) just opened up in Berlin.

Please also consider that with a registration for conference and workshops your name tag will serve as a free ticket to public transport in Berlin (Zone AB).  So you can choose hotels well-connected to TU Berlin via public transport (such as hotels 8 & 9 on the map).
